What to expect at an initial nutrition consultation?
Before the first consultation, you will need to fill in a health and nutrition questionnaire . An initial consultation typically lasts 60 and in this time Lara will ask further detailed questions such as:
- current health concerns
- diagnosis and treatment
- medical history
- family history
- levels of physical activity
- use of medication and supplements
Lara will evaluate your individual needs and uses the extensive evidence base for nutritional science to develop a personalised, safe and effective nutrition and lifestyle programme. This may include blood chemistry analysis if required.
Follow up consultations are generally after four weeks in order to monitor progress and make any necessary adjustments. Further follow-ups may be required depending on each individual situation.
Choosing a balanced diet containing the right vitamins and minerals decreases our chances of developing deficiencies later on in life. The body’s structure relies on vitamins and minerals to ensure muscle tone (including the heart), healthy functioning of nerves; correct composition of body fluids; and the formation of healthy blood and bones.
